(SportsNetwork.com) - The Nashville Predators will attempt to claim a share of first place in the Central Division on Monday when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks for a showdown at United Center. A regulation win by Nashville tonight would put the Blackhawks and Predators in a tie for the division lead at 50 points apiece, but the latter club owns the current tiebreaker due to having played two fewer games. The Blackhawks, however, have won two of three meetings against Nashville this season and tonights matchup marks the season series finale. The Preds are 4-1-1 over the last six meetings against Chicago, but the Blackhawks have won four of the past six tilts in the Windy City. Nashville enters tonight having won four of its last five games and Peter Laviolettes club emerged from the Christmas break with Saturdays 4-1 home victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. It was Laviolettes first game against the Flyers since he was fired as the clubs head coach just three games into the 2013-14 season. The Predators dominated the Flyers in the special teams battle, converting three of five power-play opportunities while killing off all four of Philadelphias chances with the man advantage. Nashville cashed in when Matt Read and Claude Giroux were sent off 26 seconds apart in the latter portion of the second period for the Flyers. The Predators scored twice in a span of 38 seconds to go up by a 3-1 count. That was big, said Laviolette. I thought that the 5-on-3 we had lots of looks, lots of attempts. The 5-on-4 goal, to come back and get one right after, that was really important. Pekka Rinne stopped 26 shots for the win and Colin Wilson scored twice for the Preds. Filip Forsberg and Mike Fisher each had a goal and an assist. Prior to Saturday, Nashville had gone 2-for-48 at home (4.2 percent) while skating with the extra man but finished 3-for-5. Its nice getting (the power play) going, Wilson said. We need confidence in our power play. Hopefully it gets us going. Chicago also posted a win Saturday, notching a 5-2 triumph in Colorado behind a three-point night from Patrick Kane. Kane tallied two goals and an assist to help the Blackhawks bounce back from Tuesdays 5-1 home loss against Winnipeg. Brandon Saad, Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp all scored and Jonathan Toews supplied two assists for the Blackhawks, who went 2-for-4 on the power play while stopping all three of Colorados opportunities with the man advantage. Corey Crawford turned aside 23-of-25 shots for the win. We knew it wouldnt be easy, Toews said. We just came out and played the right type of game. The Blackhawks had won eight straight on home ice before Winnipeg dealt them their first setback at United Center since Nov. 7 against Washington. Chicago boasts a 12-4-1 mark at home, where it will play three of its next four games. Nashville, which plays at home tomorrow night against St. Louis, is 10-7-1 as the visiting team in 2014-15. Crawford is expected to start tonight for Chicago. He is 8-7-1 with a 2.69 goals against average against the Predators. Rinne has started 30 of 34 games for Nashville this season, but backup Carter Hutton could give him a breather tonight or Tuesday. Rinne is 14-11-3 with a 2.49 GAA in his career against Chicago and is 15-12-4 with a 2.15 GAA versus the Blues. Jaromir Jagr Jersey .ca. Kerry, I hope you address Ron MacLeans comment during the second intermission of Game 4 in Montreal-Tampa series. Basically, he suggested that the NHL should not have used a referee from Quebec, following the Game 3 disputed non-goal, because the referee could be biased towards Montreal. Claude Giroux Jersey . Grilli hasnt pitched since straining his left oblique in late April. Manager Clint Hurdle says the right-hander will make a couple of appearances in middle relief before the team determines whether to return Grilli to the back end of the bullpen. http://www.nhlflyersproauthentic.com/ber...-hockey-jersey/. Power had a two-lap average of 218.896 mph in qualifying Friday at the high-banked, high-speed 1 1/2-mile track for his 34th career pole. Eric Lindros Jersey . Not that Durant cared. The only streak he cares about is still intact. Wayne Simmonds Jersey . The teams were scoreless for most of the first two periods before Canada scored three times in a span of less than four minutes. Sarah Potomak opened the scoring on the power play.Three weeks have passed since Hockey Canada announced its 25-player mens roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. And in that time span, the Tampa Bay Lightning have remained near the top of the Eastern Conference without star forward Steven Stamkos. Playing a key role in the Lightnings recent success has been the play of veteran forward Martin St. Louis, who was passed over by his own general manager Steve Yzerman for a spot on the Canadian Olympic team. The veteran winger and team captain has been on a tear since the Olympic team announcement, racking up 14 points in 10 games since Jan. 7. "I dont think its motivation to be honest," said St. Louis, whose Lightning were set to face the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. "I feel like I played some good hockey this year - Ive had some good bounces - but I dont think (being left off the Olympic team) is motivation. "I mean, Im motivated for Game 1 or Game 10. To play in this league and be successful you need to be motivated. Its been like that my whole career. I dont think these last 10 games Ive been more motivated." St. Louis, who captured his second career Art Ross Trophy last season as the league leader in scoring, also grabbed the spotlight with the first four-goal game of his career against San Jose on Jan. 18. And while hes taken much of the offensive workload in Stamkoss absence, he believes its been a team effort. "At first it was a little shock, obviously, to loose Stammer," he said. "But once thhe dust settled, we realized were where were at without him.dddddddddddd "You have to juggle some lines and find a little bit of an identity. I think we settled down and played some pretty good hockey. We have a lot of young guys that have accelerated in terms of their progress with the amount of ice time theyre getting (and) theyve done well." A lot of credit also goes to great chemistry with his teammates. Summer signing Valtteri Filppula is second in team scoring, while forwards Tyler Johnson, Alex Killorn and Ondrej Palat are making big contributions at both ends of the ice. "If you told us before the season started where wed be after Game 53 knowing all the adversity - not that I didnt believe wed be there - I would think a lot of things would have to go right for us to be here," said St. Louis. "Things have gone well considering all the adversity weve gone through." And at age 38, St. Louis himself is still going strong at a point-a-game pace. "Id like to think that Ive been pretty consistent the past few years," he said. "I expect myself to play like I have, so I dont think this year is better than others. "Obviously I had to adjust a little bit not playing with Stammer and I kind of had to re-invent myself a little with shooting the puck a little bit more. Its hard to shoot as much as I have when you play with a 60-goal guy." ' ' '
